Frequently Asked Questions

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. 100% of all direct donations and those from fundraising pages are automatically received by Tap Cancer Out, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a tax deductible receipt will be automatically emailed to you. Our Dance Cancer doesn’t process the donations.

 

How can I get involved?

There are so many ways to join in on the ODC Challenge! We encourage everyone to enter in the challenge by either making a direct donation or becoming a Challenger for Change. In addition, you have the opportunity to have your friends, family, or team join in on our fundraising Tribe Challenge! And, of course, you are more than welcome to do this event on your own. You also don't have to have a dance background to get involved! Our challenge dance routine is made with all ages, styles, and experience levels in mind! We just want to come together as a community, and take steps forward to Out Dance Cancer.

 

Can I set up a fundraising page if I'm unsure my tribe is taking part yet?

OF COURSE! Go ahead and set up a fundraising page and start your fundraising efforts. The sooner the better. 

 

Can I set up a Fundraising TEAM?

Yes, we encourage it! We have turned ON the Team Fundraising page feature allowing your team, family, and friends to participate together. All your fundraising efforts will combine to determine the Top Fundraising Team for Out Dance Cancer. However, please note that perks are earned on a per-page basis. So, no matter how much a team raises, only the individual fundraiser will earn the perks. 

 

We STRONGLY urge that you speak with your teachers or coaches and request that your team takes part in the Tribe Challenge. The Top Fundraising Tribe/Team will win an in-person master class taught by our choreographer and previous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Madeline Massingill. For your team to qualify for the Top Fundraising Award your team must reach the $250 team fundraising minimum.

 

Does my entire tribe HAVE to fundraise and/or do we have to fundraise together?

Nope! Of course we hope everyone fundraises but we know that some of you will have a tribe that simply wants to help you meet your Challenger for Change fundraising goal and earn the Top Challenger for Change prize! 

 

Do I have to take part and / or have a Team Fundraising Page set up?

Nope! While we love it when everyone as a whole get behind the event, it's not required. You can do this on your own. 

 

Where exactly is it?

ANYWHERE! That's the best part! All you need is a dance floor, something to record with, and the 30 second ODC Challenge dance.

How do the perks work?

Each perk level is earned individually, and perks are sent out at the end of the challenge on December 1st. So for example, if at the end of the challenge you raised $250 you will be shipped all the perks of a Platinum Challenger (shirt, hat, and pullover). Your perks are chosen based on the answers you provided when signing-up. Perk levels can NOT be split up amongst teammates. We are here to help and we'll make sure you get the perks you want!

 

REMEMBER all donations need to be made to your fundraising page in order to receive the correct perk level.
